The cds combobox-as-select: field and ghost triggers, an instant 12px-radius popup with trailing checks, two-line and preview options, and a bottom-sheet presentation on touch.
Field trigger
The field paint (28px, touch 32, radius 8, padding 8) with a 16px secondary chevron. The popup is the menu panel (popover surface, radius 14, padding 6; options 28 w435, highlight = ghost selected, check in accent). The popup opens instantly 6px below, start-aligned, as wide as the trigger (min 192). Arrow keys move the highlight without committing; Enter commits; Escape closes only the popup.
Ghost trigger in settings rows
Hugs its value; hover and open paint the ghost fill. Pair it with align="end" so the popup lines up with the row's end edge. Labelled by the row title.

Two-line options
A description slot turns an option into a 56px two-line row with a 13px muted second line.
Touch presentation
presentation="auto" (default) renders a bottom sheet on coarse pointers (pointer: coarse / hover: none): full width, top radius 12, 44px rows, a backdrop that dismisses on tap. Drag down more than 25% (or fling faster than .8px/ms) to dismiss, drag up 40px to grow to the tall detent (90% of the viewport). Forced here with presentation="sheet".
